We have reviewed the above ground pools offered by Bestway and found five that we liked best. They are different sizes and provide various features, but hopefully, you will find one to fit your needs.

The 5 Best Bestway Above Ground Pools – Reviewed:
1. Bestway 56477E Power Steel Rectangular Frame Pool Set – Top Pick
The Bestway 56477E Power Steel Rectangular Frame Pool Set is made of heavy-duty three-ply PVC and polyester material held up by a rust-resistant metal frame. The set also includes a 1500-gallon sand filter, a 52-inch pool ladder, a ground cloth, and a cover.
The hardest part of installing any pool is getting the ground underneath it flat. A level plot is particularly essential for any pool that doesn’t have solid walls. Unbalanced water pressure on these vinyl walls can make them collapse.
Once you’ve prepared the ground, lay down the ground cloth included in the kit, and then lay the pool out on top of it. The vinyl is stiff when you take it out of the box. It’ll be much more pliable after laying it out to warm up in the sun while you’re getting everything else sorted out.
All parts in this pool kit come labeled with a letter. Once you sort them by letter and get them all laid out, this pool is easy to assemble. The written instructions aren’t very clear, but the picture illustrations are decent. Bestway says this pool only takes 30 minutes to assemble. It took us a couple of hours.
Once we had the pool up and running, we found that the ladder that comes in the kit isn’t very sturdy. The included pump works, but not as efficiently as it could. You may want to consider upgrading both.
When the season is over, and you’re ready to take the pool down to put in storage, there’s a flow control valve that attaches to a garden hose. The hose helps place the water away from the pool area so you can get to it when it’s empty. It also allows you to change the drainage location, so all the water doesn’t drain in one spot, saturating the ground.
2. Bestway 118 x 79 x 26 Inches Frame Pool – Best Value
The Bestway 118 x 79 x 26 Inches Frame Pool will give you the most value for your money. Its sidewalls are a layer of durable polyester laminated to two layers of PVC. The corrosion-resistant metal frame has reinforced wraps at the bottom of each leg to keep them securely in place.
The assembly instructions are poorly written and hard to follow. It was pretty straightforward to put together, though, even without directions. The hardest part was getting the pins to line up correctly with the holes. They don’t clasp together very strongly, though, so make sure the pool is laid out where you want it before putting the frame together. It will fall apart if you try to move it afterward. The support straps that wrap around the legs to keep them in place are pretty well hidden in the liner. You may think yours are missing, but they’re there.
This pool is straightforward to take down to store in the winter. The flow control drain valve connects to a garden hose, allowing you to choose where you want the water to go. We recommend putting it a reasonable distance from the pool, so you don’t have to trudge through mud to get to it once it’s empty.
This pool is well-built and will offer hours of relaxation, but this is just the pool. You’ll need to purchase a ground cloth, pump, ladder, skimmer, and cover separately. You don’t need anything special for a ground cloth. If you have a heavy-duty tarp, use that. The cover helps keep debris out of the pool and helps keep it cooler, but it isn’t a necessity. You can purchase a skimmer to skim stuff that is floating around.
3. Bestway 13429 Power Steel Swimming Pool
The Bestway 13429 Power Steel Swimming Pool is made of the same quality materials as its other pools. The sidewalls are three-ply PVC and polyester. They’re held up by a corrosion-resistant metal frame that can easily be assembled with just a few tools. This pool can hold water up to 43 inches deep. It’s large enough to allow you space to swim around, but not so deep that you need to worry much if you have tweens and teens.
When putting this pool together, we noticed the poles are smaller than those from other companies offering the same size pool. They don’t clasp together very well, either. Assemble it where you want it, because it will come apart if you try to move it.
This pool doesn’t come with any accessories. If you don’t have a tarp around the house somewhere, you’ll need to purchase a ground cloth, ladder, skimmer, and pump separately. You can skim any debris off the top of the pool each day, but the pool will stay cleaner if you also purchase a cover.
4. Bestway H2OGO! Splash-in-Shade Play Pool Orange
The H2OGO! Splash-in-Shade Play Pool is quick and easy to assemble, even with the poorly written instructions. The pool itself is made of three layers of tough materials. A polyester mesh is laminated between two layers of PVC for sturdy, puncture-resistant walls.
The tent cover allows you and your family hours of fun in the sun without the worry of getting sunburned. A corrosion-resistant metal frame supports the pool liner and the shade tent.
When we put this pool up, we thought it was great for families with young kids. The shade tent didn’t hold up as well as expected, though. You need to take it down if there’s any wind, or it will fly off on you. After a while of being in direct sunlight, the tent also began to dissolve, offering less coverage.
Probably our most significant concern with this pool is the size. It’s excellent for holding a lot of kids to play in, but the water becomes an issue. The pool is too small to attach a pump to filter the water, but too big to empty and refill with each use. We had to replace the water every couple of days or the liner would get slimy.
Draining this pool is a pain too. The drain hole is about three inches off the ground, leaving just under three inches of water in the pool. That’s still a lot of water and too heavy for one person to lift to dump the rest out. The drain valve needs to be closer to the bottom of the pool.
5. Bestway Fast Set 10′ x 30″ Above Ground Pool Set
The Fast Set 10’ x 30” Above Ground Pool Set comes with a pool made of heavy-duty PVC and polyester material, a 330-gallon filter pump, and a repair patch kit. The box says this pool is easy to set up. There were no written instructions, but there was a DVD also making it look like a piece of cake to assemble. It isn’t nearly that simple. It took three people a couple of hours to get it set up, instead of the 15 to 30 minutes that Bestway claims.
The hardest part about setting this pool up is getting the ground ready. Since the walls are vinyl, it needs to be on perfectly level ground. Even the slightest slope will cause one side to bulge. Water runs over that side quite easily, so you need to add water frequently. The extra weight on one side can also cause that side to collapse completely.
The ring does a pretty good job at holding air, but it does deflate somewhat over time. We didn’t find a leak, so it may be the heat, but we have to add a little air about once a week. The ring also isn’t made of the same sturdy material as the sidewalls and can get punctured without much effort.
The included pump will circulate the water, but not efficiently enough to keep the water clean. We still got a coating on the bottom of the pool. Think about upgrading the pump if you want it to filter the pool water as it should.
Things to consider when purchasing your pool
Know the size of the area where you’ll be putting a pool and what kind of budget you have. Consider who will be using the pool. The Fast Set pools are smaller and shallower, making them great for families with young kids, or for small yards. You can get steel-framed pools in smaller sizes too, but they also come in more significant, and deeper, formats.
The sidewalls of the pool need to be of a high-quality and durable material. It needs to be strong enough to hold the weight of the water and withstand people hitting it during use. Most of these pools are made with three layers. Some use a combination of materials, while others use just one. These dense layers make the walls puncture-resistant so they will last.
Be sure the pool is safe to use. The ladder should be sturdy enough that it doesn’t wiggle when people climb on it. The pump sanitizes your water and keeps the pool clean. If your pump is too small for the pool’s size, you will get a slimy coating on the pool’s bottom, making it easy for people to slip and fall.
Bestway has two kinds of pools, both of which are easy to assemble. They both require being placed on level land. Once you have the liners spread out, the Fast Set pools need you to fill an air ring that floats on the water to hold the sides up. The larger pools have metal frames that take longer to put together, but they offer more stabilization than just air.
Consider how much time and effort you want to put into maintaining your pool. The smaller Fast Set pools require the pump to be run for eight hours a day and chlorine to be added every day or two, but that’s about it. Larger pools require the filter to run longer and must be vacuumed periodically to stay crystal-clear.
There are so many types of above ground pools that it can be challenging to even begin looking. That’s why we reviewed the pools offered by Bestway 56477E Power Steel Rectangular Frame Pool Set and put together a list of five that we think stood out above the others. We’ve provided many sizes, so hopefully, one of them will fill your needs.
